Because net between L1 and V1 wants reference to ground in order to be simulated. Add RETURN or CHASSIS terminal.

Adding a Chassis gives fatal Simulation error... Gmin stepping...

The same circuit simulates well without Chassis if MOC3021 is replaced with MOC30XX model. The Lamp then turns On.

I am using Proteus 8.16 SP1 version.

I tested the circuit exactly as it is above and it works with CHASSIS, no Gmin error. So post the project file, no the picture shot. I suspect that circuit is part of a larger one.

Here are the files.

It simulates without Gmin stepping error with and without chassis only if LD to Gate resistor is added, else with chassis it gives the Gmin Stepping error...

Please fix it Ettore as I have to do a Pump Soft Starter project. I cannot use Chassis because if I use Chassis then in Oscilloscope the lower half signal of the AC is cut and the Triac operates only 180 degrees and not full cycle of AC.

Without LD to Gate resistor it always gives Gmin Stepping error... irrespective of whether Chassis is used or not.

Yes, the circuit is a part of a larger one that is Arduino Nano based Pump Soft Starter and there is no use in posting the full project because it has code and I don't want to show the code as the code is fully complete but Triac model is giving error. Other than triac circuit there is only Nano and 2 buttons circuit and a Bi-Color LED circuit for Pump On/Off indication. Button circuit is just 5V power, 10k resistor, button, and GND.

jayanthd2k17,
Both files work fine to me with no gmin error BUT they are both based on MOC3031M; didn't you start the topic talking about MOC3021?? I want that circuit no the MOC3031.
If you give fragmented and contradictory information I cannot carry out any troubleshooting. If you want I fix anything then your have to provide me with right and full information and only then I can judge if I may fix it. About the MOC3021 (the original topic) at the present it works for me with no gmin error so I have nothing to fix! If you don't want to post in the publics forum your schematics then PM them to me.
Kind regards,

Here is the file. See the included video.

Edit: File attachment is giving HTTP error. File size is 1.6 MB and .rar format.

Couldn't attach the video file which shows Gmin Stepping error. I am getting HTTP error while attaching the mp4 video file in .rar format.

Ok. You have set the Interactive Simulator Options to "Setting for Better Accuracy". This is not suggested set for such a simulation. You need to set "Default Setting" or even better "Settings for Better Convergence".
