I built a relay, it doesn't auto generate the part number and the board side gives me a CDB error until I number the part on the sch side like I did on "RL10".
Is there a way to do this? I looked in "make device" but I don't see it.
Thanks for your time and help,
Rob

Re: Auto number multiple component device
Hi,
This is by design for Multi Element Hetrogeneous parts. You must tell the schematic which element you want the part to be associated with. When placing RL?:B, we do not know which othe RL: A or RL:C you want the part to belong to. More information is available in the help:
Kind regards,
Dave.

Re: Auto number multiple component device
Okay, thanks David, that makes sense. I was thinking of multi component parts like 4000 series where the program automatically label each segment.

Hi,
Yes, These will be Multi Element HOMOgeneous parts, where all elements are identical, Therefore it is clear that the next part placed will be a rolling number of the last one.
Regards,
Dave.
