Is it possible to specify alternative parts / dual names for parts in the library, to give manufacturers a list of approved alternatives on the BOM? which will apply across designs.
example - a schematic contains a resistor ERJ2RKF3301X, an approved alternative is RC0402FR-073K3L. Currently i'm manually adding a field to the BOM with approved alternatives shown, which is becoming a nightmare to control.
Can i add something like a '.Name2' to the component script block then just list the field on the BOM, so if the part is used in multiple designs the approved alternative can automatically be shown?

Certainly if you add the component property to each device in the library and add that property as a BOM field it will work. It would have to be a standard uppercase property such as ALTERNATIVES. I'm assuming that the alternative parts are not necessarily in your Proteus library and that the substitutions would be done externally to Proteus by way of the BOM.
