Via in pad for power componnt

Post by nickynoo1963 »

I'm trying to make a package for an Allegro ACS758xCB current sensor (RS part number 724-8748)
This is a through-hole component with 2 big pins that are high current.

Two of the component legs require rectangular through-hole pads, stitched through with vias

I have no idea how to achieve this - I have seen one proteus video where a surface pad is stitched through with vias but when I follow the exact steps, I get DRC errors for each via placed.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Here is a very quick example of what you are after. Basically you need a Slotted Pad Stack with through hole pads surrounding it. All pads will need to have the same number, and the DRC errors will disappear once the package is made.

Thanks - I assumed that the DRC errors were fatal. I will now try again.
