Cryptic netlist error message with heterogenous multipart element

Post by alciom »

Hello
I have created a multi part element for a Raspberry PI Compute module (one element per connector) and when I go to the PCB layout I get this error message: Conflicting property values: had EID=11 and EID=10 in multi-element device. [M1:A]
If I delete the parts and place them again, the error message remains but with incremented EIDs, and the reported offending part is the last one I placed.

Thanks

Update : The error went away all by itself once I assigned a package to the device.
I needed to use the PCB design tool to create the package before being able to assign it...

Hi Nicolas,

Yes, Multielement heterogeneous parts are linked via the Footprint so they know which part they belong to. Assigning a package should fix the issue.

Dave.
