guard gap resist

To convert a old file version 7.X design to 8.x project, we have a lot of DRC errors because the guard gap of a lot of pads is 10th and now it must be 4th.

Change one for one guard gap pad is a mass work. Can we make a global change for all pads?

Hi,

Boards that you have already created have the pad styles stored with in the layout so the pad styles will have to be manually changed:
1. Open the project
2. Select the Pad Style in the object selector
3. Click on the 'E' button and set the guard gap
4. Select 'Update Defaults' and click OK

The will change ALL pads in that board that use that style, and save it for future new projects.

Alternative for new projects:
Open the Default.STY (C:\ProgramData\Labcenter Electronics\Proteus 8 Professional\LIBRARY) file in a text edit the guard gap numbers:

;PAD STYLES
C-40-15,CPAD,40th,40th,15th,5th,10th,0,0
C-40-25,CPAD,40th,40th,25th,5th,15th,0,0
C-50-25,CPAD,50th,50th,25th,5th,25th,0,0

I was doing all as you say.

For new project modify the default.sty is well.

For old project modify one by one the pad styles for update is the part of the work that is very tedious. For this, I asked you if is there any way to do 'update defaults' for all the pads together. I supose for your reply that there isn't.

Unfortunately not, but you only need to edit the pad styles where the resists errors appear. I'd be surprised if there are more than 15 styles per project that need amending?

I think this may be relevant to the problem I am having.
I have just added a device with a tiny WDFN 6-Pin pad (taken from the Proteus package library) to a partially complete design.
When I place it, It shows a large number of DRC errors, even if I reduce the menu Technology setting to 1th.
The actual minimum visible gap in the pad is 5th.

I see in the discussion above :

I am sorry to be slow, but what object selector ? is it on the menu somewhere ? What E button ?
Any help appreciated.

Specifically to your question:

Please see the attached screen shots.

Select an item in the object selector and then press E button (Edit Style).
The attached picture refer to 'Round Through-hole Pad Styles' but nothing prevents you to change SMT pads object by selecting 'Rectangular SMT Pad Mode' from the tool bar.

Hope it makes more sense.
