The meaning of LISA and list of all kind of properties.

Post by James »

There is a "LISA Model file" in some component's properties ,what's the meaning of LISA?
Where can I find the description of all kind of properties, are there a table of all properties?

LISA is a scripting language using "PCells" (parameterized cells). Check out HELP -> VSM HELP -> USING SPICE MODELS. Next, there is more information in the SDK available from Labcenter. Third, a good book on SPICE is good for providing background information (I have a good one at home... will give you the information tomorrow on it if you are interested).

Thanks a lot! Please tell me the book in detail.
I hope to know the desciption of all properties used by Proteus, just like
GANG,STRAT,etc.

The name of the book is "SPICE" Second Edition by Gordon W. Roberts and Adel S. Sedra. The chapters are:

1. Introduction to SPICE
2. Operational Amplifiers
3. Diodes
4. Bipolar Junction Transistors
5. Field-Effect Transistors
6. Differential and Multistage Amplifiers
7. Frequency Response
8. Feedback
9. Output Stages and Power Amplifiers
10. Analog Integrated IC's
11. Filters and Tuned Amplifiers
12. Signal Generators and Wave-Shaping Circuits
13. MOS Digital Circuits
14. Bipolar Digital Circuits

It is available from Oxford University Press http://www.oup.com/us/highered
ISBN 0195108426

James, of particular interest is one of the appendix offerings which describes SPICE parameters by device (8 pages). Out of curiosity, are you familiar with "standard" parameters? This is what SPICE simulation is based on. (For example, for bipolars, Alpha, Beta, hfe, HFE, etc.?). If not, there are a lot of books on this and it is good background for what SPICE will be simulating. Then there are parameters that strictly limited to the simulation logistics itself. Regards.

Would it help to solve SPICE Convergence problems?

Thank you!

It's more about explaining how SPICE is used in the design process and how SPICE properties relate to device parameters. And oddly, the math in the book is only at an algebra level.
