Error on LED current measuring.

Post by Koala »

So, I downloaded the Demo version 8 to test.

i just did a simple circuit to light a LED. My surprise is that the program do not calculated the right current for my particular LED.

I chose a red LED from the part list.

Put +5V ----> Resistor ----> LED ----> GND.

LED: RED 2.2V@350mA.
Resistor: (5-2.2)/0.35 = 8 ohms.

So, the ammeter should measure 350mA, but it is showing only 255mA.

Why is this happening?

I made a test on version 7.9 and the error persist.

Maybe is a problem with the LEd model. Maybe this one can not simulate high power leds.
