Re: Students Licences
I'm a little confused here. The lite version is still available to students so either request from your Proteus distributor or just e-mail support @ labcenter.co.uk and we can sort this out. No changes have been made to the limitations or restrictions of student version versus professional version. ...

Re: Via Filling with Resin
Hi, If I understand you correctly this would be for via in pad (e.g. BGA) ? This is not currently supported but can I first check requirements with you ? I think it would largely be an output feature. We'd need a way to specify a via as resin filled (global option for vias-in-pads or per via?) and t...

Re: Non-plated slot for Reverse Mount LED
It seems that the slot is not electrical at all so it's not a pad. Why not make it a drawn slot on the designated mech layer ?
The padstack slotted hole was intended to deal with lugs that are going to be soldered to bottom copper.

Re: Variants in Proteus
You can do some of this via what we call 'alternate parts'. This allows you to have separate parts in different variants provided of course they use the same footprint. The differences between the variants are then handled in the design explorer via properties. For example a different resistor in Va...

Re: Conductive zone inside an empty zone is invisible
Perhaps I'm missing something but what is the purpose of the empty zone in this situation ?
Why not just place the conductive zone and set up a design rule that applies as required to maintain sufficient clearance around it.

Re: Error DRC Component overlap
There is no direct land pattern DRC category. Pad->Pad is the rule that is likely to be enforced first in your example.

Re: Forcefully Enabling Void Traces
Layout only connections (E.g. joining two nets at a star point) should be done using a trace style prefixed BRIDGE. Be *very* cautious when using BRIDGE tracking. The design rule system and all other safety checking will be disabled of necessity since you are joining nets together directly. You shou...

I use design explorer to filter and then CTRL+A to select the complete result set and right click ->show on schematic.

Re: Best practice for multiple boards in one project
There is some work underway at the moment to support multiple boards in a project. There will be top level schematic modules corresponding to a board and then switchable boards on the layout. This will hopefully resolve a lot of the problems with stackups, drill ranges, power planes etc. Currently e...

Re: How to create plug in module
Since the 2D layout knows nothing about the component body I think it should work ok, although the 3D viewer (and any 3D export) is likely to become confused.

Re: Ultra Librarian - Proteus Support
Hi Andy, The history in brief is here : https://support.labcenter.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7387 At the moment there is a direct search and import via the library picker and also manual import of PADS ASCII via the command on the import tool. The latter should work with Ultra-Librarian / Di...

Importing DXF Files
One of the main things we want to bring in at V8.11 is a direct import DXF -> Copper mechanism. This would translate any incoming line data into tracking and an incoming solid object into a zone. The main goal is to better support antenna design although it may well have other, more general uses. To...

Re: Castelated Holes
There isn't direct support since as you say the intention is to use pads on the border.
On the DRC front I'd place a DRC room around them and create a room rule that set the edge clearance to OFF.
I'll raise a case for the 3DV render.

No. The Proteus project file should be run locally and saved locally with update/commit cycles to web stores as required.
