Re: How to create custom pad / package?

The best I was able to do with a few minutes work was to create a top copper zone .75 inches by 1 inch. Then I created a circular thru hole pad with an inner diameter of .312 in and an outer one of .32 in or so. I then placed the pad in the zone. It worked almost perfectly, except that there was a b...

Re: Simulation of a serial data trap

I have successfully designed, simulated and built systems using Proteus and CCS C as well as Microchip's C18. As long as you have purchased the VSM models for your microcontroller, it sounds like you are good to go!

Re: New model with simulation file

You will need to provide Labcenter with your customer number in order to get the SDK info to develop simulation files.

If you connect the collector of the BC547B to ground, it will be automatically connected to the ground pin of the ULN2003. The schematic may not show it, but the netlist and layout will.

This processor is not available for Proteus. You could always make your own simulation model though. In order to do this you need to get the developer's SDK. You can obtain this by signing a nondisclosure agreement with Labcenter Electronics, after proving to them that you have a legal copy of the P...

1) Contact a Labcenter distributor in your country (see the webpage for details)
2) Pay for the version that provides the features you want
3) Get a CD and/or download instructions from the distributor.
4) Start designing

Simple :)

No, there does not appear to be a simulation model for this part at this time.

That's so you can use it to create a PCB. Not every component is meant for simulation.

I don't believe that there are any VSM simulation models for those PIC processors. There is a list of the modelled PIC18 processors on the Labcenter homepage.

Many of the models present in the libraries are for physical design purposes only.

I assume you are saying that you have drawn the element and now you want to simulate it? You have to contact Labcenter with your license info, sign a non-disclosure agreement, and they will send you the instructions on how to create a simulatable device. I have done the above, but have not yet gotte...

VSM doesn't read the source code, as you are loading a COFF or HEX file into the simulation. The processor clock speed is set when you right-click the PIC component you have placed and the Edit Component dialog pops up. There is a place to enter the processor clock frequency. You don't even need to ...

No, it won't work for simulation. You'll have to create a SPICE model for it yourself.

Create it yourself.

If you look in the help file under TUTORIAL -> The Package LIbrary, there is a tutorial on creating new packages.

There is further detail in the help file under Library Facilities -> The Package Library -> Making a Package
